COLOR THEORY (4 SCU)
Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to identify and explain spectrum color; apply spectrum color in projects; analyze the interactions of color elements and apply color interactions; explain and apply theoretical and practical aspects of the common elements and vocabulary of color theory; and use appropriate color to effectively communicate the message to the audience.
Topics:
This course offers an in-depth study of the elements, principles of color, and design theory. Students will gain an understanding of color principles using a scheme that includes analogous split-complimentary color palettes. The students will explore concepts of color psychology, advancing/receding color, simultaneous contrast, color proportion, value, saturation, and the influence of light temperature on color.
