Learning Outcomes:

On successful completion of this Course, students will be able to: Describe the basic concept of statistical process control; Explain the benefits of statistical process control in maintaining the parameters of stability; Apply the concept of variability in process control; Demonstrate the methods of statistical process control.

  1. Introduction to Statistical Process Control (SPC);
  2. The concepts of variability;
  3. The DMAIC process;
  4. Univariate statistical process-monitoring and control techniques;
  5. Engineering process control and SPC;
  6. Factorial and fractional factorial experiments for process design and improvement;
  7. Process optimization with designed experiments;
  8. Lot by lot acceptance sampling for attributes;
  9. Other acceptance sampling techniques.
