FILM, LITERATURE AND ADAPTATION (2 SCU)
Learning Outcomes :
Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to: Compare and contrast a literature adaptation from different eras; Evaluate different films that adapted from different kind of sources; Evaluate the relation between a real event, a literature adaptation on the event and film adaptation based on that literature work.
Topics :
The course lets students explore development of styles and expressions in literature as well as in other forms of storytelling and how these developments were translated into visual language. The class also encourages students to study relations between literature, film and real life situation, and how the two mediums can represent reality.
