English MKU scheme at Binus University

The Foreign Language courses at Bina Nusantara University is designed based on CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference). The diagnostic test for English language placement covers Reading, Listening, Structure and Written Expression skills called the Bina Nusantara University English Proficiency Test (BUEPT).

Binusian 2026 will learn the foreign language, such as English, Chinese, and Japanese in Beelingua. Beelingua is a digital language learning program with good characteristics such as structured, personalized, social, and gamified learning. In structured element, it provides the learners with multiple skill exercises, such as reading, listening, speaking, and writing. The progressive lessons enable the learner to improve the accuracy. The element of personalized learning allows the learner to achieve the learning goal in measurable time. The social element also empowers the learners to interact with their learning partner, such as the facilitators and other students. More than that, the element of gamification enriches the learner to have a fun and meaningful learning journey.

The course is non-credit earning type for non-literature department. For English Literature, Chinese Literature, and Japanese Literature, the students will receive credit transfer based on equivalent courses in Beelingua. The students are required to take BUEPT in Binus with a certain score and it will be categorized into different groups, namely group A (BUEPT score < 437), and group B (437 ≤ BUEPT ≤ 520), and student C (BUEPT > 520). For students who enrol in group A, B, or C, they will start different learning journey respectively in Beelingua. Every group must complete a minimum passing score in course mastery (66) at each level. The score will be converted to Binus score below. At the end of the course (the highest A, B, C) students will receive a certificate of completion from Beelingua. The journey is started from the 1^st semester and to be completed before enrichment.
