FINANCIAL FUNDAMENTALS (3 SCU)

Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to: analyze financial statements; choose appropriate financial analysis tools in a given business situation for decision-making processes; identify and use effective applications of IT in calculating bonds, optimal portfolio selections, options and leasing; and apply principles of financial analysis to forecast future performance.

Topics:

Financial Fundamentals deals with the maintenance and creation of economic value or wealth. It focuses on decision-making with special attention on creating wealth using financial statement analysis and financial skill as well as investment portfolios. This course will cover risk and return, stocks and bonds, capital budgeting, cost of capital, foreign exchange and risk management.
