Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to: describe and apply the key concepts/theory/frameworks in management; explain the interrelation between the disciplines in management; identify and explain ethical and social responsibility issues in a business context; display leadership and ability to work in group; communicate effectively in written and oral forms; explain relevant knowledge and information of local, national and global business contexts.
This course covers a broad perspective on management theories and their application in the business, public and voluntary sectors. It provides a foundation to explore issues expanded in the other courses offered within the International Business program. It is an introductory course to business management that defines the different areas of management, which are strategic management, operations management, decision making, culture, human resources, and organizational behavior.
