Learning Outcomes:

On successful completion of this course, student will be able to: LO1 – Identify the utilization of biological processes for biotechnological applications, including the historical development and future prospects; LO2 – describe genes as fundamental units of heredity encoded in DNA and describe the principles and processes regulating gene expression that underpin the molecular foundations of life; LO3 – Describe the concept molecular cloning and DNA laboratory techniques for research, diagnostics, and biotechnological applications; LO4 – Analyze the biotechnological application across various industries and understand how these innovations contribute to improve each sectors; LO5 – Analyze the regulatory frameworks and ethical dilemma that govern the biotech industry and evaluate moral implications and legal requirements associated with biotechnological advancements, research practices, and product development.
