INTERACTIVE DESIGN STUDIES I (8 SCU)
Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to: Identify the importance of interactive design, grid system and its interconnected goals, applicable in screen-based design projects across various devices; Apply major elements of interactive design into class project; Experiment with various application of grid system in interactive design, together with the supporting visual graphic elements; Use creativity flair to enhance the visual development; Apply different kind of grid systems with other visual graphic elements in screen-based design project; Utilize technical facility at a professional entry level in applying the knowledge of graphic interactive design within contemporary editorial context; Explain the concept of interactive design project; Demonstrate the ability to criticize works in design studies’ presentation.

Introduction to various screen-based design projects, Working on pixels, Understanding screen design elements, Interactive design, and collaboration of graphic design, experience design and interface design, Understanding how visual information plays a major role in thought processes, Alternative ways of approaching analytical thought through visual engagement.
Prerequisite(s): Fundamental Principles of Design.
