Methods of Experimental Psychology

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: Analyze evidence, tolerate ambiguity, act ethically, and reflect other values that are the underpinnings of psychology as a discipline; Apply basic research methods in psychology, including research design, data analysis, and interpretation; Use critical and creative thinking, sceptical inquiry, and, when possible, the scientific approach to solve problems related to behaviour and mental processes; Evaluate “scientific evidence” (the adequacy of research findings) that is communicated / reported in journals, magazines, newspapers, and news programs; Compose experimental research proposal and result in accordance with APA (American Psychological Association) style; Demonstrate ICT competence by using SPSS for analysing experimental research data.
