INTRODUCTION TO MANAGEMENT AND BUSINESS (4 SCU)
Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to describe the key concepts/theories/frameworks relevant to management and business; explain the interrelation between the disciplines in management; explain the relevant knowledge and information of local, national, and global business contexts; demonstrate leadership skills when working in a team; and demonstrate communication skills in written and oral forms.
Topics:
This course covers a broad perspective on management theories and their applications in the business, public, and voluntary sectors. It provides a foundation to explore issues expanded in the other courses offered within the International Business program. It is an introductory course to business management that defines the different areas of management, which are strategic management, operations management, decision making, and culture.
