CHEMISTRY (4/2 Credits)
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this course, student will be able to: LO1 – Describe atoms, molecules, ions and their properties and identify the key chemical constituents and their roles in various reactions and processes; LO2 – Recognize stoichiometry, allowing precise calculations of reactants, products, and yields, and develop the ability to predict reaction outcomes based on balanced equations; LO3 – Outline the behavior of substances in aqueous solutions, predict and classify reaction types, and interpret the underlying molecular mechanisms driving chemical changes; LO4 – Explain thermochemistry and thermodynamic laws, facilitating the analysis of energy changes in chemical systems and predicting the direction of spontaneous processes; LO5 – Recognize chemical bonding, complex ions, and chemical equilibrium, enabling the evaluation of molecular interactions, equilibria, and acid-base properties in various chemical contexts.
