Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to: explain the role of different types of financial institutions in the financial market, use appropriate technique to analyze the financial data from capital market, explain the ethics and governance in Initial and Secondary Public Offering of the equity process.
Topics
The course introduces the capital market, beginning with the role of the capital market in a country’s economy, laws and rules applied in the capital market and regulatory body. Students learn to relate the role of the capital market in maximizing a company’s value, understand the instruments of the market and develop basic portfolio analysis skills. The course also introduces the stock commerce mechanism and techniques to analyze information in the stock market.
