Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students are expected to be able to explain the relationship of principles of finance in various financial decision making, apply various financial analysis tools to evaluate firms’ performance, identify relevant financial information required for each financial analysis, use spreadsheet in financial decision making process, describe possible solutions to financial problems using different financial analysis.
Topics
This course is designed for accounting and finance students. It focuses on financial decision making process leading to company’s value creation. This course gives intermediate knowledge of the financial statement analysis, mathematics of finance, short-run and long-run financial analysis, and value creation Specifically, this course will cover topics financial performance analysis, time value of money, risk return trade-off in financial decision making, valuation of bonds and stock, capital budgeting, the cost of capital, capital structure, working capital management, and dividends policy.
Prerequisite: AC113 – Introduction to Accounting I
