ACCOUNTING FOR BUSINESS (4 SCU)
Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to: describe the basic accounting principles, basic steps, and four financial statements in the accounting cycle; demonstrate awareness of ethics within the accounting environment; apply management accounting, cost concepts, job order costing, process costing, cost-volume profit; and apply budgetary planning and budgetary control and responsibility accounting for relevant decision making.
Topics:
The course provides students with knowledge of fundamental financial and managerial accounting and the preparation of financial statements for external decision makers, such as stockholders, suppliers, banks and government agencies, and internal decision makers, such as the company’s management.
