Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to build spreadsheet-based valuation models to assess the value of a company based on existing financial information and data related to the future prospects of the business; to critically assess the models outputs and identify major drivers for growth and profitability as well as the sensitivity of the valuation to the model assumptions; and to communicate effectively the findings of the model and present a detailed analysis of the company prospects along with recommendations for improving its financial performance and enhancing its future prospects

1. This course will introduce the students to best practices for building valuation models using spreadsheet
2. It goes beyond valuation theory and basic spreadsheet formulas to show how to take full advantage of spreadsheet capabilities for creating robust and professional valuation templates similar to the ones used by financial professionals such as investment bankers and equity analysts on the field
