WIRELESS MOBILE SOFTWARE ENGINEERING (2 SCU)
Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to: Apply design and development principles in the construction of wireless mobile software systems; Define and analyse the computing requirements in wireless mobile applications; Apply current techniques to produce innovative wireless mobile computing practices; Create mobile applications with various features, such as network connection, persistence capability, gaming capability, messaging feature, etc. using J2ME technology.
Topics:
The course provides students with the knowledge needed to create interesting applications running on mobile devices. This course will focus mainly on the Java 2 Micro Edition platform, however several other industry platforms will also be introduced. This course provides students with the knowledge on how to develop a wireless mobile application using J2ME MIDP (Mobile Information Device Profile) technology.
