System Analysis and Design
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to: Explain the methodology of Systems Analysis and Design, Explain and apply the major techniques practiced by Systems Analysts, Plan and monitor a system development project based on the user requirements, Analyze and interpret user requirements in the system design, Design a specified commercial system based on requirements given by the clients.
Topics
This course provides an introduction to the Systems Development Life Cycle, from the initial stages of information requirement analysis and determination to the ultimate activities involving system design, development, and implementation. Particular focus is given on the strategies and techniques of systems analysis and design for producing logical methodologies for dealing with complexity in the development of information systems. This course builds upon concepts to which the student has been exposed in previous classes. While it introduces students to the state-of-the art of approach and methodology in system analysis and designs an information system, this course also provides introduction to the major techniques and tools which are practiced by systems analysis professionals, database design and business process modeling using CASE tool technology. As the result, the structure of this course puts a balance overview on the process of analyzing and designing information systems and develops the necessary Pre-requisite: None
