HISTORY OF GRAPHIC DESIGN (2 SCU)

Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to analyze the works of artists that has influenced the Graphic Design History perceptively as well as evaluating them critically; analyze the major timeframes, movements, and the works of artists in Graphic Design History, and how they may affect and be affected by the dynamic changes of own culture, and how they would accommodate today’s design in terms of style.

Topics:

This course examines graphic design development from the beginning of graphic design in ancient era to Post Modernism. Beside the time frame, this course also covers design movements, important designers, design media as well as the development of technology in graphic design.
