3D MODELING FOR INTERACTIVE MEDIA (3 SCU)
Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to construct a project that demonstrates perceptual acuity in the basic principles of 3D modeling, a conceptual understanding, and technical facility at the entry level in the field of modeling; demonstrate the ability to integrate visual elements and create various props and scenes in three dimensions using appropriate software for 3D production; demonstrate a working knowledge of technologies such as 3D software and equipment applicable in the interactive industry; and exhibit their works and contribute in critiques and discussions of their works and the works of others.
Topics:
This course expands the knowledge of game development, especially in the 3D field. Students will learn how to create props and environments, including how to use a UV map and texturing before deploying it to the appropriate 3D engine.
