HISTORY AND INTRODUCTION TO FASHION STUDIES (3 SCU)
Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to explain fundamental principal of fashion, analyze design history and culture, define contemporary issues in fashion industry, and demonstrate leadership skills in working collaboratively with teams of people from diverse background.
Topics:
This course provides an introductory view of fashion industry. These relate to the basic knowledge in fashion concepts, level of fashion, and production from medium to mass. This course also provides exposure to the industry that enables students to have the big picture on the fashion sector and to understand the process of making a collection, from the inspiration to the distribution in a retail industry. The course will implement the problem based learning where the students have more time for discussion and own opinion.
