CRITICAL REFLECTION (3 SCU)
Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of the course, student will able to develop an in- depth understanding of reflective practice and design thinking to enhance your creative process; become a reflective practitioner through the engagement with appropriate tools and processes; the development of a critical perspective on your design practice through the application of self-reflection.
Topics:
Utilising the design content developed in Global Design Perspectives and Advanced Creative Practice as a vehicle for exploration, you will begin to critically analyse your process as a designer, looking closely at the methods employed during the generation of creative ideas and outcomes. Critical self-reflection will form the basis of the learning throughout this module, stepping away from the content of your design work and presenting time and space to explore your process as a design practitioner. Theoretically underpinned by reflective practice, a series of tools will be presented to develop the approach adopted towards your design work, offering the opportunity to not only analyse how you work but to also explore more effective ways of working in the future.
