FASHION DESIGN TECHNOLOGY (6 SCU)
Learning Outcomes: Upon successful of this course, students are expected to able to: use appropriate technology in fashion industry; able to identify the most current technology for fashion idustry; able to evaluate quality of fahsion product, and conduct independent evaluation and judgement in relation to consumer, ergonomical, and environmental perspectives; able to conduct comprehensive research on complex design issues and identify relevant, reative, and innovative design solution; and able to develop design concept through practice, exploration, and experimentation.
Topic: This course will lead students to be able to choose and practice the best production strategy and finishing method to maximize the quality of the finished garments they have to produce. This course will encourage students to work confidently with individual clients and engage in a dialogue to cocreate unique design outcomes, taking a traditional or contemporary approach by developing technical knowledge through drafting, cutting, and fitting of bespoke / tailored garments / collection to a set of body measurements.
