INTRODUCTION TO DOCUMENTARY (2 SCU)
Learning Outcomes :
Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to: Explain different approaches, elements & requirements for different kind of documentaries; Write a documentary storyline and a production plan based on a preliminary research; Direct and produce a short documentary.
Topics :
The class combines theory and practice, as it introduces students to documentary history, theory, criticism, as well as methods and stages of production, from planning, writing, production, shooting, and post-production. Production workshop leads students to finish a social documentary film assignment that has to be submitted at the end of the semester.
Prerequisite : DIRECTING I, FILM PRODUCTION I
