FILM GENRES, MOVEMENTS, AND STYLES (2 SCU)

Learning Outcomes :

Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to: Describe various kind of film genre, style, and movement; Explain the characteristics of major film genre, style, and movement; Differentiate genre, style, and movement as different kind of categorization to define film.

Topics :

This class aims to expose students to various kinds of film genre, style, and movement. Major film genre would be discussed accompanied by film screening, likewise significant film style and important film movement that have changed the face of cinema. This class will introduce students to certain convention established and sustained by these attempts of film grouping within industrial, aesthetic, and political context.
