CULTURAL STUDIES & NEW MEDIA (4 Credits)
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: LO1 – explain cultural studies as a discipline; LO2 – identify research agenda in Cultural Studies; LO3 – compare and contrast theories that constitute the basic framework of cultural studies such as the Frankfurt School, Birmingham School, Feminist critique, Postmodernism, Post-Marxism, etc; LO4 – analyze cultural texts from a variety of critical perspectives; LO5 – analyze popular culture both as social practices of meaning-making and in relation to political practice.
