Learning Outcomes:

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: LO1 – demonstrate demonstrate basic knowledge of the key issues, problems, and contexts for understanding audiences and Fan culture within film and screen Studies; LO2 – analyze Analyse phenomena related to media audiences and fan culture in light of the theories and concepts discussed in class; LO3 – apply Apply the research methods suitable to the audience and fan culture issues in chosen topics, both in global and national contexts.

  3. Audience, Film Communities and Screen Culture;
  4. Fragmenting and Targeting the Audience: Producers’ Perspectives;

  6. Researching Audience and Fandom;
  7. Workshop on Mid Term Project;
  8. Introduction to Fandom and Fan Studies? : Fiske, Jenkins, Hills;
  9. Fans and Anti-Fans;
  10. Fan Texts, Rituals and Celebration;
  11. Fandom and Film Tourism;
  12. Scholar-Fan, Fan-Scholar, Aca-Fan;
  13. Workshop on Final Project.
