BUSINESS FINANCE (4 SCU)
Learning Outcomes:
Students should demonstrate a basic understanding of the theory of finance to facilitate the evaluation of investment, financing, and dividend decisions of the firm; comprehend the fundamentals of capital budgeting as applied to the investment decisions of a business; demonstrate a descriptive understanding of the pricing of risky assets; identify the basic instruments used in corporate funding; and select and use business terminology and communication contexts specific to the finance discipline.

It will consider the goals of an organization and investors; investment evaluation techniques; the valuation of equity and debt securities; fixed interest securities; sources and types of available finance; the relationship between risk and return; the portfolio theory; and asset pricing models.
