Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to identify and explain the types of events such as sport event, mega event, corporate event, art and live entertainment, explain the process of planning events, explain how to manage an event, identify the issues in events: impacts, sustainability, legacy, media.
Topics
This course provides all the practical skills and professional knowledge students need to succeed in the events industry. It covers various types of event including sports, music, the arts, corporate events, tourism, and the public and voluntary sectors. It introduces the key issues facing the contemporary events industry, from health, safety and risk management to sustainability to developing a market-oriented business. It also covers core areas of events management, including marketing, finance, project management, strategy, operations, event design and human resources.
