Learning Outcomes:

On successful completion of this Course, students will be able to: Understand the basic concepts and procedure of discrete-event simulations; Perform simple discrete-event simulation; Understand the applications of the discrete-event simulation.

  2. Simulation examples in a spreadsheet;
  3. Statistical models in simulation;
  4. Queuing models;
  5. Random-number generation;
  6. Random-variate generation;
  7. Input modeling;
  8. Verification, calibration, and validation of simulation models;
  9. Estimation of absolute performance;
  10. Estimation of relative performance;
  11. Simulation of manufacturing and material-handling systems;
  12. Simulation of networked computer systems.
