RESEARCH METHODS IN INFORMATION SYSTEMS (2 SCU)
Learning Outcomes
Explain the fundamental concepts of research, probability, and statistics; Use sampling methods, estimation techniques and hypothesis testing; Construct linear regression models; Solve the linear equations using matrices and their operations.
Topics
This course introduces the fundamental concepts of applied research using statistical methods and linear algebra. Several topics such as sampling methods, estimation techniques, hypothesis testing, linear regression model and solving linear equation using matrix operations are taught and discussed in this course. A research project with proper methodology comprising of problem identification, literature review and selection of research designs, data collection and analysis, discussion and conclusion is conducted in group mainly for real business applications.
