Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to: Define challenge in workplace, manager role in workplace, managing diversity, the decisions making process, doing and managing diversity in a global environment, ethical behavior, managing change and innovation; Explain managing social responsibility, decision making setting goals and plans, competitive strategies and traditional and contemporary organizational designs, effective interpersonal & organizational communication, contemporary view of leadership, the control process, creating a wealthy economy and functions of business; Apply management functions, understanding the economic system, basic forms of business ownership, the entrepreneurial challenge, production processes, the value of motivation, Risk Management, the marketing mix; and Analyze Management strategic, practice, business functions in workplace, Entrepreneurship Starting and a Small Business.
Topics
This course learns about the foundations of management and business which are required in managing the dynamic nature of an organization. The dynamic nature of organizations means both rewards and challenges for the individuals who will be managing those organizations. It describes the foundations of management and organizations, constraints and challenges for the global business, understanding the business environment, ethical and social responsibility, and function of production, marketing, and financial management. This course gives students basic knowledge related to the world of management and how managing business in the twenty-first century, Globalization has long been promoted by economists and the media as a win-win proposition for all countries. However, recent developments have challenged this belief and indicate signs of growing anti-globalization attitudes.
