DIGITAL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT (3 SCU)
Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to: identify the scope of digital business and e-commerce and their different elements; identify the current problems/issues related to the implementation of digital business and e-commerce in organizations; assess the use of technology in organizational transformation and value creation in the form of new lines of business and/or new relationships with other customers/firms; and apply digital business strategies in developing a corporate strategy.
Topics:
The Digital Business and Management course provides a comprehensive introduction to the theory and practice on how digital technology creates new business and social networks, is stemmed in new ecosystems, and is then converted into the economy. This course will challenge students to rethink both business and operating models in order that an organization can create value. The topics in this course cover digital value creation stemming from new, network-centric ways of business connects with partners and customers offering new business combinations. Also, it deals with how value is progressively collected by new data, placed and distributed in the networks, and at the end will increase value as the network grows.
