LEADING WITH STRATEGIC THINKING (3 SCU)
Learning Outcomes:
The Leading with Strategic Thinking Course reveals what effective leaders do differently. The course outlines four general leadership styles and demonstrates how each type achieve success, whether through personal vision, structure process, collaboration or by empowering others. Upon successful completion of the course, students are expected to be able to describe 20 micro skills of strategic thinking, describe traits that explains strategic thinker, explain characteristic that provides strategic insights, design strategy that is clever and powerful and able to distinguish strategic thinking from operational thinking.

The subject of leading with strategic thinking would enable students to identify the actions and skills that distinguish strategic leadership. As disruptive forces of technology and globalization raise new challenges for leaders, there is no more important time than now questioning how do the best leaders developing their strategy? And how do effective leaders drive strategic change. The course will cover wide ranges of topics including the nature, purpose and scope of strategic thinking, the fundamentals of strategic thinking and leadership, the micro skills of strategic thinking, the insights of strategic decisions, the traits of being extra-ordinary leader, the four types of strategic leadership, and applying strategic leadership.
