SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS STRATEGY (3 SCU)
Learning Outcomes:
“Sustainable strategic management” refers to strategic management policies and processes that seek competitive advantages consistent with a core value of environmental sustainability. The course fills the need for a strategy text that gives full attention to sustainability and environmental protection. From creating organizational visions, to formulating goals and strategies, to strategy implementation and evaluation, this course will provide new ways of thinking about the organization’s role in the greater society and ecosystem. Upon successful completion of the course, students are expected to be able to describe the principle of strategic planning and strategic intent, and how the two will provide competitive advantage. The ability to perform complex analysis using several techniques such as system thinking, complex adaptive system and fitness landscape analysis using real business examples. And the ability to perform sustainability analysis and corporate social responsibility.

The subject of sustainability strategic management covers the full gamut of strategic management concepts and processes using the perspective of sustainability. The course will cover wide ranges of topics including the concept of sustainable strategic management, environment analysis, resource assessment, sustainable strategic management (SSM) competitive level strategies, SSM corporate level strategies, implementation of SSM Strategies, corporate governance and strategic leadership in Sustainable Strategic Management.
