RESEARCH METHODOLOGY (3 SCU)

Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to: apply critical thinking in research in the organizational setting; address and reflect on a range of views; design appropriate data collection technique(s) and analysis method(s) in research; and communicate research in an academic style.

Topics:

The nature of postgraduate education puts a special emphasis on the development and expansion of new or existing knowledge. It is within the objective of postgraduate education that graduate students should be able to expand their understanding of the existing knowledge, both qualitative as well as quantitative, and provide contributions to such an area. The dynamic nature of business activities demand business graduates to be able to critically evaluate and make decisions based on the findings of a research. This course is designed in order to develop students’ knowledge and skills in the research process, thus preparing them to start their own research activities especially in the context of preparing them for research publication and thesis writing. The topics covered in this course will equip students to conduct the following: problem identification, critically review the literature, the selection of research designs, and data collection methods.
