Learning Outcomes:
On the successful completion of this course, students will be able to: analyze how problem areas can be identified; develop research background for dissertation proposal; develop the GCI to emphasize novelty.

- Introduction to the course, exploring potential areas for research;
- Preliminary data gathering;
- Discussion: Exploratory study;
- Developing research background;
- Literature review for identifying research gap & inconsistency;
- Formulating research problem;
- Writing purpose statement & expected research contributions;
- Presentation of draft chapter 1.
