Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, students shall understand the context, actors, and issues related to international development.
Topics
This course explores the international development topic which is closely associated with issues such as foreign aid, governance, healthcare, education, poverty reduction, infrastructure, human rights, and economics. In a broader sense, the course takes into account the role of MNC in those issues particularly in supporting reconstruction in the conflict-torn regions and infrastructure. Indonesia and other developing countries’ engagement with international development in their role as recipient countries are posed as case studies, especially their contribution in meeting the Millennium Development Goals and the effectiveness of foreign aid.
