INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS (4 SCU)
Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to: describe the different challenges businesses face when firms operate in an international environment; examine the various cultural, political and legal issues that impact international business activity; describe trade and investment theory, foreign exchange and determination of foreign exchange rates, legal aspects, and interaction of business and government; and identify and explain theories, policies and actors of laws in international/Indonesia perspective, the strategy to encounter risks, challenges and opportunities in international business.
Topics:
After completing MGMT6011 Introduction to Management and Business, the students are expected to learn and understand the ‘macro’ perspective of business, including the economic, political, and legal environment of international business. Also, this course illustrates how firms must adapt their strategies and operations as they internationalize. Risks, challenges and opportunities in international business will be discussed here. This course will focus on the environment in which international business and trade are conducted. Providing a macro view of commercial law, ethics and logistics, students will initially discuss the international business and trade in general. There will be a number of case studies and one guest lecturer to enhance the variety of teaching methods.
