On successful completion of this course, student will be able to: Describe the Origin of Civilization of East Asia; Analyze the development of culture and the belief system; Relate belief system and early modern culture in Asia, Combine all knowledge from origin of civilization to contemporary art works.

Introduction : What is East Asia; The Formative Era; The Age of Cosmopolitanism; The Creation of a Community : China, Korea, And Japan (Seventh-tenth Century); Mature Independent Trajectories (Tenth – Sixteenth Centuries); Early Modern East Asia (Seventh – Eighteenth Centuries); The 19th Century-Encounter of Civilizations; The Age Of Westernization (1900-1945); The Dark Valley (1930-1945); Japan since 1945; Korea since 1945; China since 1945; Indonesian Arts Development.
