LAUNCHING AND SCALING TECHNOLOGY VENTURES (3 SCU)

Learning Outcomes:

Developing technology ventures requires particular processes and thorough preparation.  Upon the successful completion of this course, students are expected to understand the process and the requirement of launching and scaling technology ventures.  Students should be able to identify the factors that contribute to the success and the failure of a technology start-up.  The students should also be able to identify the factors that are responsible for the success of a technology start-up’s scale up.

Topics:

Launching and scaling technology venture course includes topics such as the introduction to technologies that influence human life in the last decade and the technology trends in the future. The students will also learn technology commercialization processes and the role of relevant stakeholders, such as universities, incubators, and venture capitals in the process.  The students will also learn from the best practices of technology scale up, such as how and when market expansion should be done; how do merger and acquisition processes among technology ventures take place.  The students will also learn the landscape of the technology start-up in Indonesia and South-east Asia.
