On successful completion of this course, students will be able to: Describe the basic elements of a computer system and their interrelationship; Explain the concept and design of each of the components of the Operating Systems; Demonstrate different techniques of the design of the Operating System; Apply the services and support provided by the operating system in the design of multi-tasking applications; Compare different Operating Systems, namely LINUX, UNIX and WINDOWS.
